"I think we can all recognize that the “it’s a joke excuse” is the most dismissive, self-righteous loophole, created by those who refuse to examine their power, and assume they have not only the right to say whatever they want to people, but the right to control how other people react to what they have said."

Georgian traditional dance is crazy

I would break every fucking bone in my body trying to do this shit do they even wear knee padding i just

holy shit this is amazing.

holy goddamn this IS amazing.

But if you watch closely, when they land on their ‘knees’ they don’t really land on their knees.  They’re taking their weight on their forelegs and not going down right on the joint (because yeaaaah).

What gets me are the spins!  They’re spinning at like double the speed of Western ballet!  Holy whirling dervish!

This is fucking witchcraft.

Not. Humanly. Possible.

jesus christ. I sat here with my mouth hanging open through the whole thing.

a dance battle with these guys might actually end in some corpses.

"Nonviolence is an inherently privileged position in the modern context. Besides the fact that the typical pacifist is quite clearly white and middle class, pacifism as an ideology comes from a privileged context. It ignores that violence is already here; that violence is an unavoidable, structurally integral part of the current social hierarchy; and that it is people of color who are most affected by that violence. Pacifism assumes that white people who grew up in the suburbs with all their basic needs met can counsel oppressed people, many of whom are people of color, to suffer patiently under an inconceivably greater violence, until such time as the Great White Father is swayed by the movement’s demands or pacifists achieve that legendary “critical mass."

-Peter Gelderlos, Why Nonviolence Protects the State- Nonviolence is Racist (via tahlalaliaaa)

Note gelderloos is white and an activist who went to jail and learned a lot from within the system. Learned a lot from poc in prison and is pretty young too. I think he makes a lot of credits to poc and Black people make a large part of the biblio of this book from what I remember

(via strugglingtobeheard)

On the other hand, some of the people who support violent action are also white and privileged, and do not understand the way in which brown bodies are already subject to state oppression in a way white people simply are not. This has been a tension within Idle No More, for example, with some white anarchists being kicked out of rallies where our Elders and children are present.

I mean, just overall, these people need to stop telling us our business.
